Leveraging NVIDIA Inception Program Resources: TAI1 AI Accelerator Summit Showcases Taiwan's Prowess in AI Hardware-Software Synergy

As COMPUTEX 2026 and the premier Asian startup exhibition, InnoVEX, officially kicks off in June, the TAI1 AI Accelerator—initiated by StarFab and leveraging NVIDIA Inception program resources, with support from the National Development Council (NDC)—held its "TAI1: Driving Real-world AI Implementation" Summit on June 4th.

Distinguished guests included Director General, Department of Industrial Development, National Development Council (NDC), James C.J. Hsiao, StarFab Chairperson Amanda Liu, NVIDIA VP of APAC Corporate and Enterprise Marketing Maggie Liu, NVIDIA VP of Developer Ecosystem Ankit Patel, NVIDIA Head of Startup Ecosystem for APAC LJ Chiu, StarFab Executive Board Member and President of Qisda Group, Dr. Cally Ko and Executive Director of Startup Island TAIWAN Global Hubs, Kyle Chen. Alongside 9 AI startups from AI Accelerators supported by NVIDIA Inception both locally and internationally, speakers pointed out the critical path for AI transitioning from technical validation to commercialization and scalable applications from the perspectives of government, industry, and startups. During the event, it was also announced that StarFab will officially begin preparations for an AI Fund, aiming to provide comprehensive support for AI innovation through Taiwan’s industrial supply chain, technical expertise, and capital, further strengthening the global influence of Taiwan’s AI applications.
NDC Director General, James C.J. Hsiao stated in his opening remarks that the NDC focuses not only on Taiwan’s current industrial development, but also on the next step for Taiwan’s future industries. While Taiwan already holds key advantages in AI hardware manufacturing and supply chains, he noted that the next priority is to promote AI adoption across everyday life and industrial scenarios, developing innovative applications with real market value. Shiao further highlighted that the NDC has supported Taiwanese startups in expanding into overseas markets through innovation hubs in the United States and Japan, while continuing to play a catalytic role through the National Development Fund and related policy tools to support more AI applications as they move from Taiwan to the global market.
StarFab Chairperson Amanda Liu pointed out that as global AI development enters the stages of industrialization and scaling, Taiwan’s complete supply chain and technological advantages position it to become one of Asia’s strongest AI innovation ecosystems built on hardware-software integration. Since its establishment, the TAI1 AI Accelerator has built upon Taiwan’s industrial strengths, supply chain capabilities, and international technology resources to help AI innovation move from technology development into real-world industrial environments. She stated that TAI1 AI Fund will begin preparations, with the aim of further connecting capital, supply chain resources, strategic investment, and market opportunities to help market-ready AI applications complete validation in Taiwan and expand into international markets.
VP of Corporate and Enterprise Marketing at NVIDIA, Maggie Liu, remarked that the TAI1 AI Accelerator has achieved fruitful results since its establishment one year ago. This year, during NVIDIA GTC, TAI1 brought 13 Taiwanese startups to the United States to showcase their solutions on the international stage; at InnoVEX, another 14 promising AI solutions were presented, demonstrating the innovation capacity of Taiwan’s AI startups. Drawing from NVIDIA Inception Program’s long-term experience working with global startups, she noted that for startups to truly grow, they must have clear market demand, strong execution, a monetizable business model, and sufficient capital and ecosystem support. With Taiwan’s strengths in supply chains, manufacturing, and industrial environments, she added, Taiwan has the opportunity to develop more AI applications that are deployable, scalable, and ready for global markets.
The event featured a special technical keynote by Ankit Patel, NVIDIA Vice President of Developer Ecosystem, who noted that the process of scaling AI for industrial use faces critical challenges such as computing performance, development efficiency, system integration, and deployment stability. Focusing on NVIDIA’s global AI platform and developer ecosystem, Patel illustrated how NVIDIA’s full toolchain enables deep AI integration with existing corporate IT infrastructure and industrial environments. He emphasized that by combining TAI1 AI Accelerator and NVIDIA Inception resources, AI solutions can be taken from technical development toward software-hardware integration and industrial implementation, further accelerating internationalization and large-scale applications.
Furthermore, LJ Chiu, NVIDIA Head of Startup Ecosystem for APAC, introduced the mission and positioning of AI accelerators driven by NVIDIA Inception and its regional partners. She shared the vision for future cross-border accelerator ecosystem collaboration, aiming to enhance the international visibility of AI startups and strengthen opportunities for multinational cooperation and market expansion. The forum also featured four teams from the NVIDIA APAC AI Accelerators (Altotech, Life AI, NYB.AI, Space AI) and five teams from the first cohort of the TAI1 AI Accelerator (Cadasu, Red Pill Lab, Morale AI, DeepRad.AI, and Holon Robotics), who shared their AI solutions and experiences in transitioning from technical proof-of-concept to large-scale deployment.
The forum attracted over a hundred domestic and international investors and industry professionals, and combined NVIDIA’s vision for AI with the diverse energy of APAC AI startups to share the future of AI applications moving from technical validation to business practice. To conclude the forum, Dr. Cally Ko, StarFab Executive Board Member and President of Qisda Group, shared her insights. Dr. Ko, who has long been involved in AI applications and global business expansion, noted that for AI to truly be implemented, it must go beyond technological innovation and maturity; the key lies in understanding industry challenges and pain points, and creating scalable value in real-world environments. Echoing Qisda’s “AI in Action” theme at COMPUTEX 2026, she emphasized that Taiwan has a strong foundation in hardware manufacturing, supply chains, and industrial applications. By further integrating software innovation, startup capabilities, and international ecosystem resources, Taiwan has the potential to become an important hub for AI industrialization. Moving forward, the TAI1 AI Accelerator and TAI1 AI Fund will continue to connect technology, field validation, capital, and industrial resources to help more AI solutions complete validation in Taiwan and expand into international markets.
The TAI1 AI Accelerator announced the call for applications for its second cohort recruitment during the exhibition, and applications are open until July 10 (Wednesday). Startups related to Smart Manufacturing, Healthcare, Robotics, Retail, Logistics, AI, Generative AI, and LLM Agents are welcome to apply.
